CanWest MediaWorks, in association with Tencrows Media Group, has extended the brand of its automotive website Driving.ca into television. The two companies with jointly produce a new program called Driving Television. Together with the website and the weekly Driving sections of CanWest’s newspapers, this will create the first automotive information source in Canada available online, in print and on television, according to the company. Episodes of the program will also be available through Driving.ca. In addition, print ads in the Driving newspaper sections will promote upcoming content on Driving Television and direct traffic to the website. “This agreement broadens Driving.ca’s reach and solidifies our position as the only automotive site supported by such an extensive network of newspapers, where consumers can research automobiles, buy and sell used cars, purchase new vehicles, and search for the latest automobile news,” said Laura Pearce, general manager for Driving.ca. The weekly program will air on Saturdays and Sundays on Global Television, CH Television and MenTV.
