Sponsorship roundup

The British Columbia Automobile Association has signed a sponsorship deal with the British Columbia 2009 World Police and Fire Games. The package includes up to $1 million in cash, in-kind and legacy support. According to the association, this is the largest sponsorship agreement it has yet entered into. The games involve approximately 14,000 police, firefighters, customs and corrections officers from 70 countries, competing in 67 sporting events. The 2009 event will take place in 46 venues in the Lower Mainland from July 31 to Aug. 9, 2009. “Sponsoring the games was a natural fit as BCAA is in the business of providing peace of mind,” said Scott McBride, vice-president of sales and service delivery for the association. “Firefighters, police, customs and corrections officers are the heroes in our community that provide us with security and peace of mind. Now it's our turn to return that support and respect.”
