Wind damages Eaton Centre media tower, injuring three

High winds in Toronto yesterday damaged a media tower at the Eaton Centre, causing injuries to three people below. According to Cadillac Fairview, owner of the shopping centre, several metal strips were torn by wind from a L'Oreal advertisement at the corner of Yonge and Dundas Streets at approximately 2:15 p.m. According to media reports, one person received a gash to the head while two others received cuts and bruises. The intersection was closed to traffic for the rest of the afternoon. According to the company, the Eaton Centre will investigate the incident. The 18-storey tower is managed by Outdoor Broadcast Network of Toronto.
