Advertising Standards Canada breaks new campaign

Advertising Standards Canada of Toronto has begun a new campaign of public service announcements to promote the role of the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards in keeping advertising truthful, fair and accurate. The national campaign consists of English and French print, out-of-home and electronic advertisements. The creative includes images of six people, each holding a sign displaying the word "Truth." The headline reads, "Why you can believe what you're about to read." The ads also direct viewers to the organization's website at <http://www.adstandards.com> or to its toll-free number for more information. "It's a compelling message," said Janet Feasby, the organization's vice-president of standards. "We hope it motivates consumers to learn more about the code."
