New publisher at Metro Toronto

Commuter newspaper Metro Toronto has appointed Bill McDonald to the position of publisher. He was most recently vice-president of corporate sales at Sun Media, where he headed national sales for all Sun Media newspapers. He has also worked at Avid Media and Rogers Media. After a transitional period, outgoing publisher Stéphane Gagné will move to Transcontinental Media as vice-president of business development. Metro Toronto is published by Free Daily News Group, a joint-venture of Torstar and Metro International.
