CanWest Interactive has redesigned its Canada.com website. The changes include a new look and improved navigation, along with additional content such as event and restaurant listings, city guides, local shopping guides, telephone directories and maps. The site includes news and information from 43 other sites, including 11 daily newspaper sites and the sites of Global and CH Television. Content is also presented in a variety of vertical channels such as Travel, Health, Video and Lifestyle. The site also offers community tools such as weblogs and discussion groups for its users. The redesign was carried out by Toronto-based Fjord Interactive Marketing + Technology, a division of Cossette Communication Group. "We feel that this is one of the most significant online projects that the Canadian industry has seen in recent years," said Fjord general manager Cameron Bedford. "No other site in Canada has this level of robust Canadian content."
