New chief marketing officer at InterContinental Hotels Group

InterContinental Hotels Group of Windsor, England has appointed Peter Gowers to the newly-created position of chief marketing officer. Gowers will direct the marketing activities of the company's seven brands in approximately 100 countries. He will also be responsible for the company's Priority Club Rewards loyalty program. Gowers was previously executive vice-president of global brand services at InterContinental. The company's hotel brands include InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and Hotel Indigo.
