Theadlibgroup begins pool noodle promotion

Toronto-based marketing agency Theadlibgroup has begun a new campaign promoting itself. The initiative began with a direct mail piece consisting of a six-foot-long foam tube wrapped in a paper cover displaying a blurred image of a hunter and the copy, "What this guy knows could mean a lot to your business." The wrap also directed recipients to a website at <http://www.poolnoodle.ca> to watch a video of this character hunting for pool noodles. One hundred of these pieces were sent to potential and existing clients of the agency on Oct. 12 with the aim of attracting new business over the next year. "To start the program with a bang, we wanted to send a thought-provoking item that would invite the recipient to interact with the piece to discover what is inside," said David Brouitt, the agency's creative director. "The pool noodle has the unconventional shape and size we were looking for, plus it provides a unique introduction to our campaign."
