TD Canada Trust promotes GICs with gas discounts

Toronto-based TD Canada Trust has begun a promotion during which customers who purchase an eligible GIC will receive a Preferred Price Card that will get them a discount of 20 cents per litre on gasoline at participating Petro-Canada and North Atlantic Petroleum stations. "Canadians want a break at the gas pump," said Mushtak Najarali, TD's senior manager of term investment products. "With our promotion, customers get the best of both worlds; savings for the future with a guaranteed investment and savings today on the price of gas." To promote the offer, TD is conducting radio contests in six markets to give away the cards to listeners. The contests began yesterday in Vancouver, Calgary, London, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
