Bacardi begins touring promotion

Toronto-based Bacardi Canada began a promotion called "Casa Bacardi" in Calgary yesterday. During this marketing tour, the company will host Casa Bacardi events at bars and nightclubs in Vancouver, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, Halifax, Moncton, Fredericton and Montreal. These events will feature live video mixing performances by Honey Gun Labs. The promotion will end with a special event in Ottawa on Nov. 19. The company will host a party on that date at an unknown location featuring an unidentified band. Four hundred consumers will win trips to Ottawa and invitations to the event through an online contest at <http://www.batpass.ca>. Eleven of these winners will be named hosts of the party and will receive special treatment. The Casa Bacardi campaign is part of a year-long effort to attract members to its "Bat Pass" loyalty program. The campaign will be supported with radio and online advertising, plus public relations.
