Wal-Mart readies new George campaign in Quebec
By Adnews Staff
Allard Johnson Communications of Montreal has produced four new television commercials for retailer Wal-Mart to promote the fall line of George women's clothing in Quebec. The ads again make use of the brand's spokescharacter, Robert Mountstephen Saint-John, a British caricature who has appeared in previous advertising for the line. The creative depicts the character in a series of unusual situations with a group of mannequins wearing George clothing. The campaign will break this week of September with four 15-second segments airing as two 30-second commercials. From Sept. 19 to Oct. 23, these segments will be combined into four different 30-second versions. A print campaign based on the same creative will also run in a number of fashion magazines. Allard-Johnson is Wal-Mart Canada's agency of record for Quebec.
