Mail Boxes Etc. to become The UPS Store

Business service chain Mail Boxes Etc. Canada has begun a program that will result in 95 percent of its franchise locations being re-branded The UPS Store. The chain's U.S. parent, Mail Boxes Etc., is owned by courier company UPS. The UPS Store concept was introduced in the U.S. in 2003. There are now approximately 500 locations in that country. Canada will be the first market outside of the U.S. to roll out The UPS Store. "We strongly believe this re-brand will give us the added strengths we need to remain competitive and lead the business services and courier markets," said Ralph Askar, president of Mail Boxes Etc. Canada. "Converting to The UPS Store will enable our franchisees to leverage the power of UPS' reputation while bringing one of the world's most recognized brands to our storefronts." The company's services include Internet access, packing, shipping, digital printing, copying, graphic design, mailboxes, mail forwarding, mail fulfillment and mail and fax receiving.
