CHUM Television to rebrand local stations

CHUM Television will rebrand a number of television stations as Citytv stations on Aug. 2. The effort will include a common look and style to go along with the shared name, plus some name changes for individual programs. The stations in question are those currently known as A-Channel stations in Edmonton, Calgary and Manitoba. Each station will rename its morning show "BT-BreakfastTelevision" and its news programs "CityNews." In addition, CHUM's Ontario stations The New VR in Barrie, The New RO in Ottawa, The New PL in London, The New WI in Windsor, The New NX in Wingham and BC station The New VI in Victoria will be renamed A-Channels on the same day. With the exception of the Barrie station, each of these channels will adopt the name "A-Channel Morning" for their morning programs and "A-Channel News" for their newscasts. A new website will be constructed at <http://www.achannel.ca> to support these stations.
