A Unilever ad for Vim called "Prison" created by Zig and a campaign by Rethink for the BC Lions won the Best of Show awards at the Bessies yesterday. The Bessies, which are produced by the Television Bureau of Canada, recognize excellence in Canadian television advertising. In the singles category, Rethink also won gold awards for ads for the BC Lions, Science World Vancouver, Coast Capital Savings and the BCAA. BBDO Canada took two gold awards for single commercials for Pepsi-QTG Canada and FedEx Canada. Downtown Partners won a gold for an ad for The Forzani Group, as did Grip for a Bell Canada ad, Zig for an Ikea commercial, Taxi for a Canadian Film Centre ad and 103rd for a commercial for The World of Comedy International Film Festival. In the campaign category, gold awards went to BBDO's Pepsi-GTQ work, Taxi's Canadian Film Centre campaign, Downtown Partner's Anheuser-Busch initiative, and 103rd's comedy film fest campaign. According to the bureau, approximately 300 singles and 68 campaigns were reviewed by this year's judges.
