DCC Communications becomes Dentsu Canada
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based ad agency DCC Communications has changed its name to Dentsu Canada. The subsidiary of Japanese parent Dentsu was founded in 1995 at Dentsu-Cadence Canada. Its name was changed to DCC in 1999 when all of its outstanding shares were acquired by the parent's North American holding company, Dentsu Holdings USA. Dentsu Canada's clients include Toyota, Lexus, Canon, National Post and the Bochner Eye Institute. "This is no ordinary name change," said agency president Bob Shropshire. "Our agency has a well deserved reputation for work on large national accounts and intends to broaden the base and bring on new, non-traditional accounts seeking non-traditional answers." The company has stated that its goal is to become one of Canada's top five agencies within the next year.
