Subway readies campaign for Special Olympics Day

Sandwich chain Subway is preparing a campaign to support an upcoming promotion called "Subway Special Olympics Day," which will take place on May 16. On that day, the chain will donate 10 percent of its sandwich and Coca-Cola sales nationally to Canadian Special Olympics programs. The national English and French broadcast campaign will break on May 9. It will consist of 30-second television and radio ads, plus in-store window clings and menu footers, developed by Calexis. National media buying will be handled by The Media Company. Regional media buying will be handled by I2I Advertising in Vancouver, The Venture Group in Calgary, Brandworks/TM in Winnipeg, Calexis in Toronto and Publicis in Montreal. Fleishman-Hillard will conduct a national public relations program including interviews and photo opportunities with Special Olympics athletes in some markets.
