Workopolis.com conducts April Fool's Day promotion
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based job website Workopolis.com will conduct a one-day promotion today that will allow users to select a dream job as an April Fool's Day joke. Visitors to the site can choose one of four fictional positions: Big Shot CEO, Rock Star, News Anchor or Canada's Next Top Model. A fake announcement about the new hire will then be emailed to the user's friends and family members. "At Workopolis.com, we thought having some April Fool's Day fun with family and friends would be a great break from the job hunt," said Susan Hayes, director of marketing and communications at Workopolis.com. The advertisement was created by Toronto-based MindBlossom. It will be posted on Workopolis.com and Sympatico.msn.ca on April 1. Due North Communications provided the pseudo-announcements. Public relations are being provided by Environics Communications. Workopolis is jointly operated by The Globe and Mail division of Bell Globemedia, Toronto Star Newspapers and Gesca, a subsidiary of Power Corporation.
