Effem begins Whiskas Great Lengths Contest
By Adnews Staff
Effem Canada of Toronto has begun a contest to promote the Whiskas brand of cat food called the "Whiskas Great Lengths Contest." Cat owners can enter the contest by submitting video footage of their cats doing unusual things in order to get to their food. "Cats are very playful and do zany, extraordinary things to get your attention for something they want," said Andrea Crowley, Whiskas product development manager. "To celebrate cats and the joy they bring to our lives, we're calling on all feline lovers to capture their cat's antics on video and show how far they will go for the food they crave." A panel of celebrity judges will select ten finalist videos based on talent, creativity and entertainment value. These will be posted on a website at <http://www.whiskas.ca/greatlengths>, where visitors will vote for their favourites. The winner will receive a one-year supply of cat food and groceries for a year. The company will also donate a year's worth of cat food to the winner's local Humane Society branch, SPCA shelter or rescue group. The contest will run from Feb. 28 to April 29. Public relations are being provided by GCI Group of Toronto.
