Digital Advertising Network makes marketing deal with Pixnet

Digital Advertising Network of Montreal as signed a license agreement with Pixnet, also based in Montreal, to market its advertising distribution software globally. Pixnet primarily develops multimedia distribution software. It also operates a satellite and land-based network for digital file transfers. The main users of this system are digital cinemas. Digital Advertising Network will work to promote the software to the advertising industry. "This was an obvious progression for both companies as since 2000 we have been engaged with Pixnet as they developed a parallel but customized system to their digital cinema applications to support our own advertising based network," said Warren Stelman, president of Digital Advertising Network. "In our discussions it was evident that they wanted to enter into a partnership to actively market their product for advertising applications." Digital Advertising Network's main line of business is a collection of video display screens in the food courts of 66 Canadian shopping malls. According to the company, talks are underway with several media companies in Canada, the US, Australia and the UK to license the software and display technology.
