Ford installs light and sound Mustang billboards in Toronto
By Adnews Staff
Ford of Canada has installed two new billboards in downtown Toronto that make use of additional technology in an effort to overcome clutter. Both billboards, created by Young & Rubicam of Toronto, promote the 2005 Mustang. The first board, measuring 12m by 4.5m and located at the southeast corner of Richmond and Peter, displays a Mustang dashboard which changes between 19 colours every three seconds. The effect mimics a real Mustang dashboard, which can be set to use 125 different colours. The second board, measuring 8m by 6m and located at the southwest corner of Adelaide and John, shows a picture of a moving Mustang. The copy directs viewers to tune their radios to 88.3FM. This station broadcasts a recording of Mustang engine noise, which can be heard for approximately one kilometre past the billboard. Both boards were installed on Feb. 14 and will run for 13 weeks.
