Medicard Finance readies national campaign

Toronto-based Medicard Finance will break a trade and consumer ad campaign this month to promote its services. The company provides financing to Canadians seeking surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. The campaign will consist of national magazine and Toronto out-of-home advertising. The print ad depicts a woman's face overlaid with price tags displaying the monthly cost of plastic surgery financed through Medicard. The outdoor ad uses the tagline, "We put the plastic in surgery." The creative shows a hand offering a Medicard credit card to a surgeon during a procedure. The campaign will also include public relations, special events and the sponsorship of trade and consumer shows in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal in the spring. "What was once considered unacceptable has become an expectation for the aging population, and the demand for cosmetic and corrective treatments for a new set of patients is evidence of this," said company president Ann Kaplan. "We expect our new marketing efforts to resonate strongly with our key target audience."
