AGING GOOD FOR DRUGS

The needs of Canada's aging population is helping the growth of several drug categories, according to A.C. Nielsen Canada of Markham, Ont. Diabetic test strips led the way last year, with sale up 26% from 1994. Medical nutritional supplements followed with 12% growth and anti-oxident vitamins came in third with 7% growth. Oral backache remedies and men's hair coloring rounded out the top five, both growing 5%.
