ONBRAND PACKAGES NEW GANONG CHOCOLATES

Onbrand of Toronto has created new stand alone packaging for two new product lines from chocolate maker Ganong. The products, Peanut Butter Melts and Caramel n' Peanut Clusters, come as individually wrapped pieces in bags. The packaging uses bright colours and illustrations of the chocolates inside. The intention is to appeal to the impulse buyer aged 18 to 49. "Our goal was to design packaging for Ganong's Melts and Clusters that had the same emotional tie of other snacks to help the consumer to embrace chocolates as a snack," said Onbrand president Greg Bérubé. "Boxed chocolates are pegged as seasonal and bars are too large for today's calorie conscious consumer. I am interested to see how other brands package their products."
