BBM BRINGS COMMERCIAL TRACKING SERVICE TO MONTREAL

BBM Canada has begun providing its competitive television tracking service in Francophone Montreal. This service was previously available in Toronto and Vancouver. The service digitally monitors conventional and specialty stations. The data concerning commercials is linked to the ratings from Portable People Meters and published for clients weekly. This data has also been linked to the company's InfoSys software, which can analyze audience data for programs, commercials and dayparts. "Experience has taught us that the commercial occurrence data will provide advertisers, agencies and broadcasters with new insights into how to compete more effectively," said BBM television vice-president Ron Bremner. In addition to occurrence data, BBM is preparing a service which will provide subscribers with access to a collection of the captured commercials in a digital format. BBM operates this tracking service in association with TNS Media Intelligence/CMR of New York.
