BELL CANADA PREPARES OLYMPIC INITIATIVES

In addition to a television advertising campaign, Bell Canada is readying a series of interactive initiatives related to Canadaian Olympic athletes. The telecommunications company has created a Web site at <http://www.bell.ca/athlete>. Visitors to the site can send pictures and messages to athletes and can view a message to Team Canada from other athletes. A commemorative TV Viewer's Guide to the 2004 Summer Games has also been developed. The guide was delivered to 10 million Canadian homes last week. It contains an event schedule, athlete profiles, sports information and other programming data. Bell has also created an interactive pavilion called Bell TechnoSport. The pavilion will visit 13 cities before Sept. 14, promoting various technologies that help athletes train. Also, users of Sympatico High Speed Internet service can access a collection of online content including video journals from athletes at <http://www.roadtoathens.sympatico.ca>. Various interactive television services will also be offered through Bell ExpressVu beginning Friday.
