STAPLES BUSINESS DEPOT READIES BACK-TO-SCHOOL ADS

Staples Business Depot of Markham, ON will release two new back-to-school television commercials on Aug. 16. The first ad features musician Alice Cooper and his song "School's Out." In the ad, Cooper shops for back-to-school supplies for his unhappy daughter. The second ad is a new version of a back-to-school ad from last year that uses the Christmas song, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year." This ad has been running for three years. The new version, called "Show Down," depicts a principal dancing through a store while shopping. He then finds that all the chalk board erasers have been gathered by a student standing next to him. The ads, created by Landers Production of Toronto, will run nationally for four weeks.
