AWARD SHOW ROUND UP

Six Canadian agencies received awards in the Film competition at the Cannes International Advertising Festival. Gold Film Lion winners included Toronto-based Zig, which won in the household category for its "Prison Visitor" ad for Unilever's Vim Bleach; Taxi, also of Toronto, which won in the entertainment and leisure category for a campaign created for the Canadian Film Centre and Vancouver-based DDB Canada, which won in the fund-raising & appeals category for a campaign created for the BC SPCA. DDB of Toronto won a Silver Lion in the public awareness messages category for a campaign created for Elections Ontario. Other Silver Lions winners included Toronto's J. Walter Thompson, which won in the sweet foods category for a spot for Nestle Canada's Kit Kat chocolate bar, and Downtown Partners DDB, also of Toronto, which won a Silver Lion for a campaign for Bud Light beer for Labatt Breweries. Downtown Partners also won a Bronze Lion for a Bud Light spot created for Anheuser-Busch. Additional Bronze Lion winners included TBWA\Toronto, which won for a campaign created for client AGF Financial Services. In other Cannes competitions Cossette Media of Toronto won a Media Lion and Diesel of Montreal and Taxi of Toronto won Bronze Cyber Lions.
