DARE FOODS PROMOTES BEAR PAWS

Dare Foods is promoting three new Bear Paws cookie flavours: Banana Bread, Homestyle Oatmeal and Baked Apple. The packaging includes a logo describing the cookies as nut-free and peanut-free. Similar signage is also being used in-stores. Additional promotion will include a sampling program and in-store activities during the summer. Dare Foods will also distribute 500,000 samples of Bear Paws in Burger King children's meals. In the fall television advertising will air on YTV, Treehouse TV and Discovery Kids. A back-to-school contest will give away a family trip to the San Diego Zoo. The advertising is being developed by Corus Entertainment and Tactix, a division of MBS. Tactix is also handling the sampling program. SPS is organizing the Burger King cookie distribution. This will be the first time Bear Paws have been sold nationally. Previously the cookies were available only in Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Public relations for Dare are handled by Ketchum Public Relations of Toronto.
