A&W PROMOTES ROOT BEET FLOATS

Vancouver-based A&W Foods Services of Canada is using outdoor and radio advertising to promote the return of Root Beer Floats. National billboard and bus advertising began on June 14 in major markets. The outdoor advertising, created by Rethink Advertising of Vancouver, is being supported by radio ads in some markets. The advertising will run through the summer. The floats were introduced in 1956 and sold until 1988. The drinks are made with A&W Root Beer and Nestle Real Dairy Ice Cream.
