CANON RELEASES NEW PRINT ADS

Toronto-based DCC Communications has created two new print ads for Canon as part of the "Canon is Here" campaign that began last year. The campaign is aimed at information technology executives in large organizations. The new ads, which promote the company's workgroup printing products, are running in trade and consumer magazines nationally. The creative presents testimonials from two executives: the vice-presidents of information technology at AGF and Roots. Both ads use the headline "Canon is Here." "The intriguing aspect of the advertising is the visual treatment that connects Canon directly to a company or product that most business consumers might not associate with Canon," said Keith McDevitt, vice-president and group director of DCC. According to Mason Olds, general manager of Canon's imaging systems group, a new phase of the campaign is currently under development.
