REEBOK SET TO BUY THE HOCKEY COMPANY

Reebok International of Canton, MA is set to acquire The Hockey Company. Reebok will pay US$204 million and assume US$125 million in debt for the Montreal-based hockey equipment manufacturer whose brands include CCM, JOFA and KOHO. The Hockey Company has licensing agreements with the National Hockey League and exclusive agreements with the Canadian Hockey League, the American Hockey League and the ECHL. Reebok designs and distributes fitness footwear, apparel and equipment under the names Reebok, Rockport, Greg Norman and Polo Ralph Lauren.
