MINDSHARE RETAINS AMERICAN EXPRESS MEDIA ACCOUNT

MindShare will continue to handle international media planning and buying for American Express, according to a report on AdAge.com. The incumbent agency had been competing against Initiative Media and Carat, which handle media buying for American Express in the U.K. The review, which began late last year, included Canada. Ogilvy & Mather will continue to hold the company's creative account. The media review did not include the U.K., Japan or Italy. In those regions, media work is handled by Carat, Dentsu and Zenith Optimedia, respectively.
