TSN BEGINS PLAYOFF RITUAL CAMPAIGN

Toronto-based TSN has begun a new advertising campaign that depicts NHL playoff rituals. The five 15-second television commercials are airing on CTV channels CTV, TSN, OLN, Discovery Channel, The Comedy Network, ESPN Classic Canada and NHL Network. Each ad describes the hockey playoff ritual of a hockey player, a fan and a member of TSN's broadcast crew. A three-week radio campaign will begin on six Toronto radio stations today. These ads describe the same rituals presented in the TV commercials. A four-week outdoor billboard campaign will also begin today in the Greater Toronto Area. The billboards display the hockey fans with painted faces. The campaign also includes banner ads on TSN.ca, CTV.ca and Thecomedynetwork.ca. The campaign, created by CTV, will run through TSN's coverage of the playoffs, which begins on April 7.
