TRANSCONTINENTAL PICKS NEW CEO

Luc Desjardins will succeed Remi Marcoux as chief executive officer of Transcontinental. Marcoux will become executive chairman of the board. He will also retain a controlling interest in the corporation. Desjardins has been president and chief operating officer of Transcontinental since May 2000.
