ELI LILLY READIES CIALIS CONSUMER ADVERTISING
By Adnews Staff
Eli Lilly Canada is about to break the first consumer advertising in Canada for the drug Cialis, a prescription medicine for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Television advertising, created by Grey Worldwide of Toronto, will begin tomorrow. Cialis will be the closed captioning sponsor for programs on Global and CFTO-TV. Two 10-second ads will run during commercial breaks. The first ad shows a television set with a hockey game on. A man's hand turns the TV off. The second ad shows a record on a turntable. A man place the needle on the record. Both ads use upbeat music and the copy, "The Weekend is Here." Outdoor and print advertising for Cialis is also planned, according to Eli Lilly vice-president of marketing Dave Ricks. Public relations for Cialis are handled by National Public Relations of Toronto.
