Toronto-based McDonald's Restaurants of Canada announced a new consumer wellness campaign yesterday. During the first phase of the initiative, which will begin in mid-March, McDonald's will add nutritional information displays to its in-store posters and trayliners. New menu programs for adults and children will be introduced and wellness-themed information trayliners will be distributed through the year. Also, a nutrition calculator has been installed at <http://www.mcdonalds.ca>. The program will also promote physical activity. The Ronald McDonald school program will be extended and existing contracts with local sports organizations will be "revitalized," according to the company. Public relations for the chain are handled by Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
