TORONTO SUN FOUNDER DIES

Douglas Creighton, founder of The Toronto Sun newspaper, died on Wednesday of Parkinson's disease at the age of 75. Creighton began his career in the mailroom of the Toronto Telegram in 1948. He was later a police reporter. At the time the Telegram closed in 1971 he was managing editor. The first edition of The Toronto Sun was published the day after the Telegram closed. Creighton was publisher. Creighton was removed as CEO of The Toronto Sun Publishing Corp. in November 1992.
