VIA RAIL HIRES MEDIA AND CREATIVE AGENCIES

Via Rail ended 2003 by appointing several new agencies. The Montreal-based passenger train operator began searches for a new media agency and three creative agencies in November. The 36-month contract for the media account was awarded to MBS of Montreal. The 36-month contracts for the creative agencies went to Montreal-based Publicis Canada/BCP, Ottawa-based Acart and Montreal-based Academie-Ogilvy. Via Rail had previously been using Tonik of Montreal, according to Keith Multon, director of advertising for Via Rail. In a separate search, Via Rail appointed Graphitheque its new studio.
