PANASONIC HOLDS EVENT TO PROMOTE SHAVER

Panasonic Canada of Mississauga, ON took over the TD Centre concourse in Toronto last Thursday as part of its support for the launch of its new Pro-Curve Men's Electric Shaver. Panasonic hosted the 5 O'clock Shadow Showdown, an event in support of the CHUMCity Christmas Wish program. The Showdown treated men to traditional towel treatments and customary facial shaves using the New Pro-Curve in exchange for voluntary donations to the CHUMCity Christmas Wish. To complete the event, a holiday barbershop with barbershop chairs was set up in the concourse. The event raised over $2,000 including a corporate donation from Panasonic. The 5 O'clock Shadow Showdown was organized by Environics Communications of Toronto. In addition to the event, Panasonic is also supporting the launch of its new Pro-Curve with a print ad in Fashion magazine and an online contest at <http://www.panasonic.ca>, both created in-house. Further support for the new Pro-Curve is planned for spring 2004 when a print advertising, also created in-house, will run in Wedding Bells magazine.
