REPORT: RADIO REVENUE UP
By Adnews Staff
Canadian radio revenue is up, according to the Radio Marketing Bureau. For the broadcast year that ended Aug. 31, revenue was $1.15 billion, 6.5% ahead of the previous year. "SARS, mad cow and the blackout all affected the Toronto market in the last quarter of the year, but stations in Canada's largest market still posted an increase in ad revenue of 0.8% for that period," said John Harding, president of the bureau. Prior to that, revenue had been ahead by 7.4%, he said. In 2002 radio revenue had been up by 2.9% from the previous year.
