GREEN CARD CAMPAIGN DRAWS COMPLAINTS

A new print advertising campaign created by Vancouver-based Hot Tomali Communications for that PSC International of Vancouver is not sitting well with some Canadians. PSC is a legal services company that files the necessary paperwork for the U.S.A. Visa lottery. The new campaign is targeting eligible applicants who want a Green Card to legally live and work in the United States. A series of three print ads are currently running in the Montreal Gazette, Vancouver Sun and Toronto Star. The first ad displays the American Flag and the headline "Why work in the United States. Because last time we checked, there was no such thing as the Canadian Dream." The second ad shows an American crest and the headline "Working in the United States would be quite an honour. Um, make that honor." The third ad shows an Uncle Sam top hat and the headline "Act now for your chance to work legally in the United States. No, not with us." The campaign will run until the Dec. 29 deadline for this year's lottery. Azmairnin Jadavji, president of PSC International said, "Many of the responses we're getting are from people who think we are an American company making fun of Canadians."
