CREATIVE LABS TRYING TO EXPAND CANADIAN MARKET

Creative Labs of San Jose, California figures it can do more business in Canada if its has a Canadian headquarters. With this in mind, the company opened an office in Mississauga, Ont. earlier this year. The company is now localizing software and documentation and running special customer support phone lines in both English and French. Creative Labs makes sound boards for IBM-compatible computers. Advertising for Creative Labs is done in-house by the company's U.S. offices. It is sent over the border to be localized and placed by the Canadian office. In the past, Creative Labs sold its products through distributors and had another company handle servicing. Creative Labs is a subsidiary of Creative Technology of Singapore.
