BBDO HIRED BY SAPUTO

The cheese division of Saputo Canada has hired BBDO Montreal to handle its marketing communications. The Montreal-based manufacturer selected BBDO in a competitive process that began with 14 agencies. Allard Johnson Communications was also considered in the final round. BBDO will handle strategic positioning and the promotion of Saputo's cheese brands in Canada. These include Saputo, Armstrong, Stella and Tavistock. This is the "first time Saputo has consolidated marketing communications activities with one firm," said Gregor Angus, president of BBDO Montreal. Previously the division used various agencies on a project basis, accordin to Mario Demers, national marketing director for the Saputo cheese division.
