ABCON MEDIA RESUMES CONTEST

Toronto-based Abcon Media has begun a second annual promotion of its own medium in the form of a "Boom-Ad" contest aimed at employees of Canadian advertising agencies. Agency personnel are invited to develop creative to run on a parking gate sleeve. The submission must be for a current client. The contest will run until the end of the year. The grand prize winner will receive a four-week campaign on six Toronto-area Boom-Ad locations and a case of wine. Second and third place prizes of wine will also be awarded. Axmith McIntyre Wicht won last year for an ad for The Mercedes-Benz Toronto Area Retail Group. It used a Mercedes logo positioned on the boom to give the impression that it was on the hood of the car when a vehicle drove up to the gate.
