FOOD EVENT LOOKING FOR SPONSORS

Second Harvest is looking for sponsors for its Toronto Taste 96 event being held June 9. Sponsorship packages range from $1,000 to $10,000. The $1,000 sponsorship package includes signage at a chef's station, program recognition, plus two tickets to the event and a VIP reception. Two primary sponsors this year are the Daniels Group and Toronto AM radio station CFRB. During the event, 50 chefs prepare their best dishes for guests to sample. Wine, beer and liquor are also donated for the event. Second Harvest picks up perishable food from places such as restaurants, hotels, caterers and grocers. It distributes the food to agencies that feed people in need, such as shelters, soup kitchens, community organizations and neighborhood drop-in centres.
