PORTER NOVELLI DROPS BENCHMARK FROM NAME

BenchMark Porter Novelli has dropped BenchMark from its name to become Porter Novelli Canada. According to the Toronto-based public relations agency, the name more accurately reflects its "business-centre communications approach across the four practice areas of consumer, corporate, health care and technology." The change also reflects the increasing integration of the various Porter Novelli International branches around the world, according to the firm. BenchMark Porter Novelli was formed in the merger of BenchMark Communications and Canada Porter Novelli in January 2000. The agency has offices in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Its clients include ATI Technologies, Baxter BioScience, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Canada Liver Foundation, Celestica, Intuit Canada, RCA, TheSteel Alliance, The Gillette Company and Whitehall-Robins.
