TELEVISION BUREAU ISSUES CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Television Bureau of Canada has issued a call for entries for the 2003 TVB Retail Commercial Awards, formerly known as Retail Comp. The organization describes the event as the only Canadian advertising competition judged wholly by consumers rather than industry professionals. This will be the 32nd year for the contest. "This is a very important competition for agencies, production houses and Canadian television stations," said TVB president Jim Patterson. "Retail advertising is one of the engines in the Canadian economy, and television gives retail advertisers the opportunity to brand their store and generate traffic." The deadline for entries is Oct. 10.
