ONTARIO HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION BEGINS AGE DISCRIMINATION CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The Ontario Human Rights Commission has begun an age discrimination awareness campaign in association with Shoppers Drug Mart and Canada's Association for the Fifty Plus. A poster ad depicts an older person wearing a "best before" sticker. The copy reads, "Nobody has a shelf life. The only thing that's out of date is the idea that older people don't deserve the same respect and opportunities as everyone else. Let's stop age discrimination. It's old news." The posters, created by Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG of Toronto, will be displayed at Shoppers Drug Mart stores nationally until Aug. 9. A brochure on age discrimination will also be distributed during that time. The brochures were developed by the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
