NEW PRESIDENT COMING TO LABATT
By Adnews Staff
On Sept. 1 Stewart Gilliland will become the new president of Labatt Breweries of Canada. He will manage the Toronto-based company's operations in Canada and Cuba and take a seat on parent company Interbrew's new executive board of management. The change will be part of Interbrew's restructuring of its organization into four zones: Canada, Europe, Asia-Pacific and U.S./Latin America. Gilliland was previously chief executive of Interbrew United Kingdom and Ireland. He has worked for the brewer for 19 years. Outgoing president Bruce Elliot, who first joined Labatt in 1977, has opted to leave the company rather than take a position outside of Canada. He will remain as an advisor until September.
