CLEAR CHANNEL OUTDOOR WINS OTTAWA TRANSIT SHELTER CONTRACT
By Adnews Staff
Clear Channel Outdoor of Toronto has received a five year contract from the City of Ottawa to handle its transit shelter advertising. The term of the deal began on July 1. "This is an important acquisition for us," said company president John Jory. "We're constantly looking to broaden out base of out-of-home media products. Transit shelters are a Clear Channel strength worldwide and in Canada, Ottawa is a key market for national advertisers." National sales will be handled in Toronto by Clear Channel Outdoor and in Montreal by Metromedia Plus. According to Jory, the company's first tasks will be to hire staff to handle local business and to repair or replace existing transit shelters in the city.
